A TripAdvisor review for all hotels

I have stayed in a few hotels, and when I write TripAdvisor reviews for them I always find myself writing the same old things no matter where I am. Therefore, here is my TripAdvisor review which is applicable to all hotels:

1. Checkout is 12.00. That’s standard around the world except for a very few stupid hotels that ask you to leave by 11 or even, as I’ve seen a couple of times, 10.30. This is absolutely unacceptable. If most hotels can ask you to leave by 12.00 and still have the rooms ready for the guests coming in that day, then why can’t all hotels? The fact is that a lot of people check out earlier than they have to anyway so the chances are that they will only be a few rooms left to clean after 12.00. (Obviously give late check out if you can but this goes without saying). 
2. Never finish breakfast earlier than 10.00. 9.30 is way too early to have to have breakfast when you’re on holiday. However…. 
3. If breakfast finishes at, say, 10.30, don’t start clearing away the breakfast at 10.29, 10.30, or even 10.32. Give your customers 10 minutes grace for those who have woken up late and hope they can still make it. It won’t change your day much but it will greatly improve the experience of those people who almost miss breakfast. If you really really really really really need to have breakfast cleared up by 10.30 then just tell the guests that it finishes at 10:20.

5. Don’t shut the swimming pool at 6 PM for no reason. It’s not like you bother having lifeguards there when it’s open anyway, so just let people swim until 9.00 pm if they want to. There’s nothing worse than coming back after a long day of exploring the local area and the swimming pool is arbitrarily closed. 

1. Two Soaps!!! Perhaps this is personal preference, but there is nothing worse than having to constantly run back and forth between the shower and the sink to grab the soap because the hotel was too darn tight to provide two mini bars of soap. really great hotels give two soaps. 
2. Ledges in the shower! You might not have noticed but people around the world enjoy having somewhere to put things when they’re in the shower. When the only thing that you offer is a mesh tray with massive holes in it that cannot even keep a bar of soap, that is not enough ledge.
